Looking for a Therapist?
You are a hard and dedicated worker, but no matter what you do, you always think you have not done enough and believe you have fallen short. You work hard to get everything right and want to do good in all areas of your life. This includes having good relationships and increasing your self-esteem.
You wish you had closer friends. You know you are kind of an introvert, and it just hurts that you don’t know how to make these connections, or you can’t seem to make them last. No matter what you do, you find it difficult to talk to others. You are on social media looking at posts of people your age, and you can’t help but feel like you are falling behind. Or maybe you think you are doing something wrong because your life doesn’t look like theirs.
I’m here for you.
A therapist who Helps with Anxiety and Depression
My name is Thelma Mora Zazueta, I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and, I offer online sessions. I became a therapist because I love to help people who have undergone difficult situations in their lives, and I love seeing the positive impact they make in their lives as they grow, transform, and heal. I was born in Mexico and raised by my mother, who always worked hard to give me the best. My mother has been my teacher in life, and I have learned the definition of strength and not giving up. I understand the obstacles and sacrifices that certain families experience. I also know the struggles that come with acculturation. Acculturation happens when one leaves their country and/or families to embrace a new journey and work to construct their dreams, even though this implies adapting to a new culture like their beliefs, eating new foods, and learning a new language without living their cultural beliefs. Moreover, as a Hispanic therapist, I understand the weight of mental health stigma and the possible “bullying” that you might find in your journey. I’m passionate about helping you break free from anxiety, depression, or the comparison that comes with this.
Counseling Education & Background
I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University with a specialization in family therapy. I have a Bachelor of Arts in applied psychology with an emphasis on criminal behavior from City University of Seattle. I am certified in CETA [Common Elements Treatment Approach] which helps with the treatment of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I’m also trained to use EMDR and I am a Certified Hypnotherapist. I have been providing therapy for 9 years at both a community mental health clinic and a private practice clinic. My internship in 2016 lasted for a bit over a year and was done at a child and family clinic. In addition, I started working as a Case Manager in 2014, in which I had the opportunity to help others with advocacy and providing resources.

The time it takes to see results from anxiety therapy can vary widely depending on several factors, including the type of therapy, the severity of the anxiety, the individual’s commitment to the process, and the therapist’s approach.
-
I use different types of therapeutic approaches including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This is one of the most effective therapies for anxiety and can show noticeable results within 8-12 weeks. Some people may begin to feel better even after a few sessions, while others might need a bit more time to work through deeper issues.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Techniques like mindfulness can help manage anxiety, and some people experience relief after a few weeks of consistent practice.

Anxiety therapy, particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), is commonly used to address overthinking and racing thoughts. It does so in several ways:
1. Identifying Negative Thought Patterns
2. Challenging and Reframing Thoughts:
3. Mindfulness and Grounding Techniques:
